From February 2017 I will be adding Hypnotherapy to my coaching tool-box. This service will be offered face-to-face ONLY at my clinics in Macclesfield and Prestbury, in Cheshire.
Since the start of my journey into the world of Mindset, I always knew that one day I wanted to include the benefits of of Hypnotherpy into my own coaching practices. I have been providing powerful coaching for people in the art of changing mindset, beliefs and habits for over two years and I have seen first hand just how empowering – and utterly life changing – it can be to take control of your own mind and thoughts.
Adding Hypnotherapy into my tool-box means that I can help more people, in an more powerful way.
Hypnotherapy can help you enormously to feel more comfortable and in control around challenging situations. I will use this technique in combination with all the fitness and nutrition advice and general mindset coaching you need to aid you in becoming much more in control of your own thoughts, behaviours and actions, thus creating a healthier, happier and more confident YOU.
What is Hypnosis?
Hypnosis is a state of focused concentration. In hypnosis, we have access to the unconscious which is not limited by our rational way of thinking, neither is it limited by time or concerned with being ‘right or wrong ‘. It is the purest, the most honest part of you. It is also highly creative and can assist you to find the best solutions; helping you to see – not just to watch, helping you to hear – not just to listen. This part of your mind has been described as the ‘forgotten asset’ and is a reservoir of unlimited potential. It knows everything about your emotional and physical state.
This is why hypnosis is so effective.
What will it feel like, will I be asleep?
You will be aware of everything that is happening and being said the whole time. However, you will be so deeply relaxed that you may find yourself drifting into different levels of awareness. Remember, your subconscious mind is active throughout and it is this that we will be working with.
We drift in and out of different levels of awareness many times a day, absorbing information on a subliminal level as well as a conscious one.
Will I remember everything afterwards?
That depends how deep in hypnosis you are. Generally most people do remember either everything or certain parts of the experience. You will find that suggestions which have been given to you in hypnosis will resurface in your conscious, thinking mind after your hypnosis session and these will be the thoughts that produce changes in your behaviour or way of thinking and feeling.
Can I be hypnotised against my will?
Anyone can resist hypnosis during a session and as a result render the therapy ineffective. However, the question remains as to why someone would seek hypnotherapy if they didn’t want it to help them. Hypnosis requires cooperation between two people – I will show you the way and you can choose if you want to go there or not.
Can I be made to do anything I don’t want to do during hypnosis?
No, you won’t say or do anything at all that you don’t want to. If you were given suggestions that you didn’t morally agree with you would come out of hypnosis or disregard the suggestions.
Are there any side-effects from hypnosis?
The only side effects are the beneficial ones of feeling more relaxed afterwards and feeling more positive about whatever it was you sought hypnotherapy for. Hypnosis is a perfectly natural state.
